Cherry Blossoms
Nara Park is known for its cherry blossoms and cherry blosssom bloom time in the spring is arguably the best time to visit Nara Park.
While the bloom season and the peak bloom time varies by year, you can generally expect to see cherry blossoms at Nara Park in late March and early April.

Where to See Cherry Blossoms at Nara Park
Nara Park has just under 2,000 cherry trees, and the clouds of white and pale pink cherry blossoms in the spring are a spectacular sight.

Throw in the sacred bowing free-roaming deer, and you can see why Nara Park is an irresistible destination during sakura bloom. Photographers will want to capture the famous deer of Nara framed by the pretty pink cherry blossoms.
You’ll see many different varieties of cherry blossoms at Nara Park. Look for the weeping cherry trees, with blossom-laden branches dropping to the ground.
The grounds of Todaiji Temple have several cherry trees, and during bloom time, you can see the beautiful temple buildings juxtaposed with the pink-blooming trees for a pretty picture.
Himuro Shrine, steps from the park, is reportedly the place in Nara where cherry blossoms show up first every year.
On the grounds of this serene shrine, you can see some fine specimens of weeping cherry trees, which start blooming in early March. They look captivating in bloom!
